Do you almost always have a mini anxiety attack when you're putting in your card details to buy something online, or do you just do it without a care in the world? 

With the scope of fraud in online shopping having increased so much, the hesitation is quite natural and sometimes even spot on, and the story of Manjunath N is a perfect example of that fear. 

Basically, he got duped out of Rs 5,000 while trying to buy a phone on OLX and well, being wronged like that can make people switch over to the dark side, sometimes. 

So, naturally, he decided to use the same trick to defraud other people and ended up bringing in lakhs of rupees that way.

After being a victim and the perpetrator of online fraud, it does feel like he got his own villain origin story. 

Working as a flower seller in Bengaluru, he lost his job and source of income due to the pandemic. And, that's why he turned to online scams to earn money. You can almost feel some sympathy for him, almost. 

But of course, his actions were illegal, and well, he was been caught by the police after one of his victims filed a complaint.

The victim, named Dhanush D of Chikkallasandra, thought he was buying a second hand Hyundai Verna car after seeing the ad on OLX, but after he bought it for Rs 4.5 lakh, our guy Manjunath here just ghosted him. 

Reportedly, he robbed people in Tilaknagar, KR Puram, Nelamangala, Nayandahalli, and Mysuru. 

After he was caught, cops seized valuables worth Rs 9 lakh, including gold, a car, two-wheelers, a watch, and cash, from him.
