Heartbroken ‘PUBG’ Fans Carry Out Hilarious ‘Desi’ Funeral Procession That Has Left Us In Splits

Banning of the popular game PUBG in India by the government came as a major blow to many people, especially gamers, across the country.

So much so, that in a recent tragic development in West Bengal, a 21-year old student allegedly died by suicide as he was upset over the PUBG ban in India

Meanwhile, many PUBG fans took this piece of news in their stride and made hilarious jokes out of it. As soon as the government banned PUBG, WeChat, and other 116 additional Chinese apps, many people flooded Twitter with memes and jokes.

In fact, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account got hacked following the ban, Desi people on social media joked about how Karma had hit back and that hurt and frustrated PUBG fans must have hacked the PM's account out of sheer anger.

Now, some people have gone to the next level in showing how heartbroken they are over the ban of their beloved game.

Recently, we came across a video of some grieving PUBG players carrying out a public funeral procession for the game which has left us all in splits. (Can’t get weirder than this, don’t you think so?)

In the bizarre video, some boys can be seen crying out repeated chants of “Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner.”

Here, check it out:-

Clad in white clothes and carrying a garland-clad photo of the PUBG poster, the youngsters can be seen out on the streets in a funeral procession for the now-banned game.

The preparations look complete from carrying a matka to showering flower petals, as the song “Yaad teri aayegi, mujhko bada satayegi” plays in the background. One of the grieving men in the video can be heard saying, “Yaar, PUBG ke chakkar mein girlfriend chooth gayi thi” and “Kal tak toh sab acha bhala tha”.

The video then cuts to the wailing men hugging and consoling each other by saying, “Arre bhaisahab, sab theek ho jayega” and “Apna dhyaan rakhna” as they join hands in prayer and touch the framed PUBG poster in reverence. Finally, the words ‘Rest in Peace’ flash at the bottom of the video.

However, they are not alone, as it looks like a lot of other crushed fans have been performing their own funeral rites for the game as well. Check them out:-

Here’s another similar procession posted on Facebook which was taken out in typical fashion by sorrowful youths with the caption, “Funeral of our beloved PUBG 🤧”.

They too can be seen dressed in white clothing and carrying the arthi, sloganeering, “Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner”.

There were a total of 118 apps of Chinese origin that were banned by the Indian government, citing national security reasons and misuse of user data.

As per reports, PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite together had around 50 million active users in India, with around 13 million of them checking in every single day.

Some gamers played in professional leagues and tournaments, reportedly forming a big chunk of the Indian e-sports industry revenue coming in from the game’s online streamers who tuned in to watch.

Recently Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to share with his fans his latest initiative wherein he announced that he will soon launch the Indian action game FAU-G. Well, looks like PUBG lovers now have something to look forward to.
