Delhi Records Lower Temperatures Than Shimla, Kasauli & Seems Like Winters Have Arrived Early

No matter where you live in India, it is likely that you’ve heard somebody mention dilli ki sardi with some sort of exaggeration attached to it. True, Delhi winters can be bone-chilling, quite literally, but many would agree that the capital hasn’t witnessed the infamous winters in the last couple of years. Why? Our guess - global warming.

Anyhow, if latest reports are to be believed, it seems that Delhi might be back to experiencing its chilly winters this year because the temperatures in the state have already dropped drastically and it’s only November now.

The capital has been recording colder mornings for the last two days with temperatures around 10 degrees, which may be the same as Shimla, but lower than Shimla Airport and other Himachal hill-stations such as Dalhousie, Kangra, Dharamshala, and Kasauli.

It is being reported that on Tuesday, Dalhousie recorded a temperature of 10.9 degrees Celsius as opposed to Delhi’s 10.6 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Dharamshala was at 10.6.

The Indian Meteorological Department scientists have also suggested that temperatures are expected to remain around 10-degrees for the rest of the week, and that would mean Delhi officially hitting the cold wave criteria. So far, on 31st October Delhi witnessed the coldest October day in 26 years.

If temperatures remain on the lower side, Delhi might witness a November cold-wave for the first time in 30 years!
