There is no doubt that Delhi is choking at the moment due to the yearly crop burning rituals. The air quality of the national capital has touched new lows in November. The pollution has now reduced visibility and is dismally increasing pollutants in the air that people residing in Delhi are breathing all day long.
After months of clean air and blue skies, Delhi is back to being the smog capital, where haze and pollution are ruling our lives. The fact that the wind speeds in the capital and neighboring cities of the National Capital Region dropped to the lowest speed of 5kmph in the early hours of Monday led to accumulating pollutants near the surface.

According to (SAFAR) System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research and India Meteorological Department (IMD), the air quality will be in the same position till Wednesday. They said,ย โThe winds have been calm since Friday evening and in a Northwesterly direction.โ
SAFAR also said, โFire from paddy straw burning in Punjab and Haryana accounted for 38% of the PM 2.5 pollution in Delhiโs air. The percentage share of smoke in Delhiโs air translated to a pollution load of about 140 ug/m3.โ
The #DelhiAirQuality was deteriorated not because of burning crackers by from burning of Parali in agriculture field since decades. But despite curb on them they always ban crackers on our festival deewali

Now, social media has been flooded with people pleading to the concerned authorities to take action and initiative against this yearly menace that happens every year.
