We all really need to start caring about the environment, it's high time. And one of the biggest aspects of that is actually preserving existing trees and also planting new ones.
And, that's why the Supreme Court not allowing the Uttar Pradesh government to cut down nearly 3,000 trees is one of the best news we've heard recently. And, the savage way they countered all the points in the proposal is the cherry on top.
The state wanted to cut 2,940 trees to widen roads around a 25-km stretch leading to a Lord Krishna temple in Mathura district and offered to pay ₹138.41 crore compensation.

The court has ordered the UP government to present an accurate report on this account in four weeks.
Moreover, when the point of traffic slowing down if the road isn't wide enough came up, the court had the perfect solution.
They said, "Why do roads have to be laid in a straight line by cutting trees? Keep roads zigzag. It will reduce speed, lessen accidents on roads, and save many lives."
