From the loss of life, frustrating lockdowns to financial adversities, 2020 will surely be remembered as the year of Coronavirus, which still continues to pose a threat to mankind.
While the global pandemic was capable enough to leave human beings reeling, there was another blow, especially, for the Indian cricket fans. Struggling to come to terms with the changes, amid the COVID-19 regulations, in their lives, the entire country went into a state of mourning after Indian cricket's biggest superstar, MS Dhoni announced his retirement in August.

The former Indian captain took to Instagram and shared a touching video of his journey on the international stage before thanking fans for their love and support.
As soon as he announced his retirement, cricket bigwigs, Bollywood celebrities and fans took turns to shower praise on Dhoni for an illustrious career.
Amongst all the plaudits, one came from Prime Minister Narendra Modi who penned an emotional message to thank him for his contributions to Indian cricket.

In response, Dhoni, too, shared how much the letter from PM Modi meant to him. "An Artist, Soldier and Sportsperson what they crave for is appreciation, that their hard work and sacrifice is getting noticed and appreciated by everyone. thanks PM @narendramodi for your appreciation and good wishes," Dhoni replied.
Dhoni's thoughts were admired by many on social media and, as 2020 comes to an end, it has also emerged as the most retweeted tweet in Indian sports this year.
The tweet, in question, has garnered over 78K retweets and 330K likes on Twitter, so far.
