Recently, Rajinikanth was hospitalized in Hyderabad due to high blood pressure, and fortunately, he's back home in Chennai after undergoing treatment. 

While fans were happy that the 70-year-old superstar is fine and healthy now, his latest announcement has disappointed everyone. 

Due to his health scare, he's decided to stay away from politics for good as he considers it a 'sign from God'.

Before he was hospitalized, he had plans of launching his own political party this month and even contest the Tamil Nadu elections. On December 3rd, he had said, "It is now or never."

Well, looks like it's never now. 

Just about an hour ago, he shared a statement on Twitter that said, "With extreme sadness, I say that I can't enter politics. I alone know the pain I went through while announcing this decision."

Asking for his fans to forgive him for his decision, he said, "Without entering electoral politics, I will serve the people. This decision of mine will disappoint my fans and people but please forgive me."

While his entry into politics has been anticipated for decades, his fans are still happy that he's healthy and ultimately respect his decision.

Basically, the gist of it.

He is not entering politics. He is withdrawing his political entry.
