People Are Divided Over Barkha Dutt Trolling RaGa's Press Conference Coinciding With India's Win

It honestly looks like the entire country drops everything and is just glued to their TVs whenever India's cricket match going on.

Well, that was definitely the case today as India came out victorious against Australia and the entire country has not calmed down since the win.

It's hard to go back to work when all you want to do is cheer for the Indian cricket team and praise them for their efforts, but well, looks like Barkha Dutt disagrees.

Right after India's win today, the journalist tried to poke fun at everyone's punching bag, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Turns out Rahul Gandhi had a press conference scheduled for today and coincidentally it was at the same time as India won.

How are these things even connected? Well, they're not, but Barkha Dutt did manage to find a way to call out Rahul Gandhi over this.

Tweeting that only Rahul Gandhi can time a press conference when the entire country is experiencing "hysterical pleasure", her honestly strange take of the situation has left people divided.

Only Rahul Gandhi would time a press conference to the exact moment when most of the nation is in a paroxysm of hysterical pleasure

Some agree with her that only RaGa can have such bad time, but others are reminding that there's a lot more to the country than just cricket.

There's another reminder people had for her - PM Modi was himself busy shooting for Man vs Wild when the Pulwama attack happened that took the lives of 40 jawans.

Yes, because there's nothing else, nothing important happening in the country right now.

Can be rescheduled. He should have congratulated the team and moved on

— barkha dutt (@BDUTT) January 19, 2021

Hmm.

But what stops u as a journalist from getting the message across...there is also a huge population that doesn't live and die for cricket...

— Dr Bhavana Gautam (@GautamBhavana) January 19, 2021

Apparently.

So a cricket match is more important than the fate and lives of millions of farmers?

Dalali ke naam pe kyu apne hi deshwasiyon ko chuna lga rahe ho madam !

— Ankit Mayank (@mr_mayank) January 19, 2021

Some people are agreeing with her.

🤣 Couldn’t have been put better!

— Akshaye Rathi / अक्षय राठी (@akshayerathi) January 19, 2021

A lot of people would disagree.

India isn't cricket. Cricket isn't India.

— Dystopic (@Dystopicc) January 19, 2021

Doesn't matter apparently.

Right. Cricket is God.
And farmers? Hell! Who even cares about them? So what if 60 of them have died? https://t.co/VM5plXyIxw

— Shikha Khanduja Kaul (@shikhakaul10) January 19, 2021

Ouch.

Hello @BDUTT maam - ok the timing is not the best. But would you not focus on the content instead or fact that he as so called #Pappu has the courage to face open press conference and take Qs - while a Fake #56Inch has not done a single Open Press Conf 2430 days into his tenure https://t.co/p2yaK8Rv86

— #AtmaNirbhar Ram Sharma (@theRealRSS) January 19, 2021

That's what I'm getting.

Cricket is imp, farmers & national security is not : barkha Dutt

— Doctor Adani™ (@AdaniHu) January 19, 2021

Strong point.

Don't bother about RG. The PM who was playing Man Vs wild when pulwama attack happened, definitely will tweet about this win ...

— Riya_s (@Riyadenny) January 19, 2021

Some people are proud of her.

Can't believe she actually took a swipe at @RahulGandhi. Good going @BDUTT. https://t.co/z8ualex16F

— Ramanathan Iyer 🇮🇳 (@ram_iyer) January 19, 2021

Yes, definitely.

With all your journalistic prudence @BDUTT - this was absolutely wrong. Goddam we are discussing farmer issue and national security and he has to wait so that we get over our elation of test cricket win. You are the one who is reducing news to entertainment. need to introspect? https://t.co/cW1V6hqCHd

— Sita (@Sita63927596) January 19, 2021

So many tags.

Dear @BDUTT , the questions @RahulGandhi asked today should ve been asked by u long ago . But sadly , @RahulGandhi have a spine and u shamelessly mock him questioning the timing. Have a life mate. Dont let ur life go waste @RahulGandhi https://t.co/fdQi9pfW1P

— Dr ramkumar (@draaarkk) January 19, 2021

Hmm.

So @BDUTT Has a problem rahul gandhi standing up for farmers and india!
No wonder she is anti farmers and relevant to none!
Who controls you btw? https://t.co/In1bEDXcqX

— pachdagreat (@pachdagreat) January 19, 2021

What does this even mean?

Huh? Or youres of seriously low iq

— barkha dutt (@BDUTT) January 19, 2021

Okay then.

"Hysterical pleasure"?

An opposition leader does a press con. Instead of covering the conference, Barkha Dutt is tweeting her thoughts on when she think it should be scheduled

He can't do a referendum before a PC, child

Do YOUR job. Are you Maata Barkha giving muhurt!
