You can find everything on Twitter - memes, political commentary, more memes, fake news, celebrity rants, the list goes on. One thing that is rare to find there, or actually on the entire internet, is logic.
And that's why some people are trying to get Twitter banned by tweeting about it on Twitter.
Sure, it's a great way to make yourself heard but maybe they can start by actually moving to a different site to continue their discourse on whether Indians should have freedom of expression, or if we should completely go into a fascist society.
We have withheld some of the accounts identified in the blocking orders under our Country Withheld Content policy within India only. These accounts continue to be available outside of India. https://t.co/uQuXNtzq9t
— Twitter Safety (@TwitterSafety) February 10, 2021The #BanTwitter hashtag comes after Twitter released the statement talking about what actions they will be taking after the Indian government ordered them to block 1,178 accounts for allegedly spreading misinformation on the farmer protests and 'provocative content'.
While the company has complied and withheld a certain number of accounts just within India, they said that they won't be blocking media, journalists, activists, and politicians as it violated "the right to freedom of expression under Indian law".
However, we have not taken any action on accounts that consist of news media entities, journalists, activists, and politicians. We will continue to advocate for the right of free expression on behalf of the people we serve, and are exploring options under Indian law.
— Twitter Safety (@TwitterSafety) February 10, 2021Of course, the hashtag is confusing people.

After taking down Donald Trump & several other accounts, Twitter is lecturing India on the right of free speech & expression. #BanTwitter https://t.co/Nh0ZnoGmem
— Naveen Kaushik (@telmispartan) February 10, 2021No one is controlling the conversation, at least on Twitter and everyone has the right to speak their mind and then face the consequences for it.
Only solution is to #BanTWITTER before its too late. The world witnessed
what they did in America: the world's oldest democracy and to a sitting President of United States. India can't afford to allow these leftist media to control the conversation. https://t.co/6DkJ3eTcyx
