Congress' Nana Patole Blasts Akshay Kumar For Keeping Mum About The Rise In Fuel Prices

The hike in fuel prices across the country has been a major lately because it has crossed Rs 90 in several states adding to the stress of the locals. Petrol and diesel prices have been a topic of political interest and the parties pit it on each other for the hike.

The Prime Minister, on Wednesday, blamed the former party Congress for not focusing on the matter of petrol earlier. He said the middle-class would not have been burdened if the previous governments had focussed on reducing India's energy import dependence. "I do not want to criticize anyone but I want to say (that) had we focused on this subject much earlier, our middle-class would not be burdened," he said.

Now, the Congress representative from Maharashtra, Nana Patole, has retaliated and slammed celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar for keeping mum after Narendra Modi led BJP didn’t do anything to help the middle class in this crisis. He went on to say that they won’t let the films of these two celebs release in the state if BJP doesn’t do anything to prevent the rise of petrol.

In 2012, Akshay Kumar had raised his voice about the rising fuel prices. On 27 February 2012, the actor had tweeted, "Guys, I think it's time to clean up your bicycles and hit the road! As per sources, expecting another petrol price hike." 9 years later, he didn’t bother to tweet about the national concern but also deleted the earlier tweet. Akshay has also been bashed by people for deleting the earlier tweet.

We wonder how Akshay and Amitabh react to the allegations by Nana Patole.
