Prime Minister Narendra Modi took Covid Vaccine shot this morning at AIIMS hospital, Delhi, and became the first beneficiary of the second phase of nationwide vaccination fighting the Coronavirus. He took the homegrown Covaxin which has been developed by Biotech and ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research).

He shared a picture of himself on Twitter along with a caption saying, “Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19.  I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!”

According to TOI, sister P Niveda inoculated PM Modi today and said, “Sir (PM Modi) has been administered the first dose of Bharat Bio tech's Covaxin, the second dose will be given in 28 days. He asked us where do we belong to & after vaccination he said ,'Laga bhi di, pata hi nahi chala'."

The government is now hoping to vaccinate over 30 crore people by August in the second phase. And now that PM Modi himself has taken the vaccine shot people on the internet are also showing faith in taking the vaccine.
