The biopic on Indian badminton star, Saina Nehwal has been in talks for a long time now. The film was announced with Shraddha Kapoor in the title role but things didn’t work out and Parineeti Chopra was roped in to play the Badminton star. The actor has dropped the teaser and it will surely give you goosebumps to get a glimpse of the badminton sensation's journey.

The teaser takes you through the journey of the badminton star’s life - from her training in her childhood to playing for India in international tournaments. The teaser begins with a small monologue wherein Parineeti highlights how women in India are destined to do household chores before parents decide to get them married by the age of 18, but her story is different. The teaser ends with Parineeti holding the Indian flag.

After watching the teaser, people are convinced that it will do wonders at the box office and also feel that Parineeti is the perfect choice to play the role.

The actor looks impressive as Saina and going by the teaser, we are kind of certain that this might give Parineeti the appreciation she has been looking for.

Saina is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 26, the makers announced on Tuesday. The poster of the film was, however slammed by people on social media for the wrong depiction of a badminton serve.

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Parineeti had recently shared how she got into the shoes of Saina Nehwal. She said, “That was the most immersive process I've ever been a part of. You can't make up anything since you are playing real characters, you have to do everything authentically. The way I hold a racket, the way I play a particular shot - I could play it in my style but that's not allowed because you have to play like the other entity. That is why I spent so much time with Saina herself, tried to emulate her, made videos of her. I used to watch her matches, read everything, watch her interviews. I used to see how she talks and I tried to emulate that in the film."
