Apple Will Not Be Making A Successor To The iPhone SE Anytime Soon And Heres The Reason Why

Apple launched the iPhone SE this past March and most consumers didn’t even know it was out as they were looking forward to the launch of the iPhone 7. The device is quite popular amongst users who prefer a smaller screen but it seems like Apple will not be making a new iteration in 2017.

KGI securities, an analyst company, have come to the conclusion that the iPhone SE will not be making a return anytime soon. Ming-Cho Kuo, the analyst behind the claim, has had a very good track record when it comes to leaks and predictions. He even predicted the plans of Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, which later turned out to be true.

According to Kuo, Apple wants to boost sales of the iPhone 7 due to which they are not going to be promoting or releasing a newer version of the SE. Since their flagship phones are more expensive than the SE, it requires that extra push in order to maintain those higher profits.

The SE was launched as an alternative to the 6s simply because of its size. The 4-inch variant lacked the 3D touch but it still sold quite well during the initial launch phase. Meanwhile, the demand for the iPhone 7 and other premium phones by Apple is declining and Apple wants to encourage their users to upgrade to their flagship phones. ASAP.

Kuo has been a reliable source in the past but Apple is yet to confirm this claim since they are known to subtly let things go.
