It’s almost undeniable that cinema has an impact on our daily lives and how we perceive certain things. And there are obviously a few aspects of cinema that are extremely fancy and somewhat unrealistic, especially how they depict work life.Just imagine, if you had the chance to live the life of Ranbir Kapoor from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, would you ever turn down that opportunity?
In fact, we are so influenced by Cinema and these jobs in particular, that somewhere we feel our work lives are kinda miserable. That’s the kind of impact Bollywood has on us. Nonetheless, here are five such jobs that gave us major FOMO.
1. Radio JockeyIf you have seen Vidya Balan in Lage Raho Munna Bhai, you must have felt how cool the profession is and it won't be a stretch to assume some of us would have even wanted to pursue a career as one.
2. Diving InstructorIt might not have been on your list of likely professions, but Katrina Kaif’s portrayal of a diving instructor in Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara might have changed it. If you’re someone who loves water, it can be your dream profession and will save you from sitting long hours at your desk job in the office.
3. Photographer/ Travel JournalistAfter seeing Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of these professions in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Wake Up Sid, you must have thought about pursuing these as serious career options. Thanks to Bunny, quite a few of us were actually enlightened that one can pursue travel journalism as a career option.
4. ChefFrom the times of Rajesh Khanna’s Bawarchi, Bollywood has been trying to experiment with the idea of men working in the kitchen. Saif Ali Khan, in films like Salaam Namaste and Chef made it look like a cakewalk. Thank you Saif for rubbing our dull desk jobs right in our faces.
5. HairstylistThanks to Bollywood, the thoughts of people who stereotyped the profession of a hairstylist as the old school naayi have completely changed. Whether it’s Kajol in My Name Is Khan to the super-stylish Kareena Kapoor Khan in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Bollywood has helped us understand that there’s more to this profession than just having scissors in your hand.
