The film Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt continues to make headlines, but for the wrong reasons. Now, another large matter has fallen upon the film’s team.
View this post on InstagramAccording to TOI, an additional chief metropolitan magistrate court in Mumbai has issued summons to Alia Bhatt and Gangubai Kathiawadi director Sanjay Leela Bhansali regarding a defamation case.
View this post on InstagramThe suit has been filed by Baburao Shah, who is the adopted son of Gangubai. He expressed that according to him the film will show his family in bad light which will be factually incorrect. The film’s storyline is an adaptation of a chapter from Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai and he has also been summoned in this case.
Reportedly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Alia Bhatt, and Hussain Zaidi have been asked to show themselves before the court on May 21.
Earlier, Baburao Shah had filed a petition in Mumbai Civil Court to put a restraining order against the film and its trailer but it was rejected.
