If you have been thinking that COVID has bid farewell and you can be without masks then you are wrong as India saw the biggest-ever daily surge with 1,03,558 fresh Covid infections, taking the tally to 1,25,89,067 cases. 

According to latest developments, Akshay Kumar who has been infected with COVID has now been admitted to the hospital. He took to Twitter to share the news that he has been hospitalized. “Thank you, everyone, for all your warm wishes and prayers, they seem to be working, I am doing fine, but as a precautionary measure under medical advice, I have been hospitalized. I hope to be back home soon. Take care," he wrote.

Just yesterday, the action star had informed that he had tested positive and was under home quarantine. “I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I am under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care," he wrote.

This isn’t it. The most worrisome part is that 45 crew numbers of Akshay’s movie Ram Setu too have tested positive. The shoot has now been halted in order to protect others from getting infected.

Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) president B N Tiwari confirmed the news to Indian Express and said, “It’s quite unfortunate that so many people tested positive at one go. While most were junior artists, a few from Akshay Kumar’s team also tested positive for COVID-19. They have all been quarantined and provided medical attention. With Akshay also in quarantine, the shoot has been suspended as of now.”

Akshay has been working almost constantly since restrictions on filming were eased last year. He has completed work on Bell Bottom, Atrangi Re and had begun shooting Ram Setu last week.

Talking about Ram Setu, it’s being directed by Abhishek Sharma and will also star Nushrat Bharucha and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles.
