Arvind Kejriwal Announces Weekend Lockdown In Delhi & Here’s How People Feel About It

As the Covid-19 spike continues to baffle the world, the déjà vu feeling of 2020 lockdown seeps in and it's not a great feeling. While most countries took the spike seriously and have some strict lockdown measures in place, our government has taken some sweet time to muse on what to do. Infact, in a parallel universe, the ‘Kumbh Mela’  and the lakhs of devotees taking ‘ shahi snan’  in the holy Ganges has appalled everyone on social media. As some states are badly hit, the onus on whether the capital city affords a lockdown was in the limelight. A while ago, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a weekend lockdown in the capital. Only essential services will be allowed, cinema halls with a 30% capacity will  function, malls, gyms and spas will remain shut.

The measure has been taken to control the sudden spike in cases in Delhi, which recorded over 17,000 cases in a single day. Curfew passes for attending weddings will be given for those who need it. the curfew timings will be from Friday 6 Pm to Monday 6 am. While this seems to be a brilliant decision, considering what is happening in the state, some people obviously had a few thoughts and concerns which they didn’t shy away from exhibiting.

M@lls band rahenge aur cinema joki mall me hi hote hai wo 30% capacity me chalenge , wahan sadd ji wah

The chief minister has also announced that an adequate number of beds will be arranged and the state government is doing its best to assure treatment is provided. In the end, while we continue to suffer and businesses continue to struggle, it's important to understand that our security is in our own hands. Stay safe and stay home!
