However, the 42-year-old actor on Thursday (April 29) shared how he has been a victim of harassment at the hands of the members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu and its IT cell.

The actor alleged that the BJP IT cell leaked his personal mobile number after which he and his family have been continuously receiving calls "abuse, rape and death threats".

"My phone number was leaked by members of TN BJP and @BJPtnITcell Over 500 calls of abuse, rape, and death threats to me & family for over 24 hrs. All numbers recorded (with BJP links and DPs) and handing over to Police. I will not shut up. Keep trying.” Siddharth said in a tweet, in which he tagged Indian PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah.

The actor also went on to share the screenshot of a social media post by a purported BJP TN member, who had leaked his number. The tweet said,

"Ivan inimela vaaye thirakka koodathu (this fellow must never open his mouth again),”

“We might survive Covid. Will we survive these people?”

This is one of many social media posts by BJP TN members leaking my number yesterday and telling people to attack and harass me.
