Sushil Kumar, who is currently in six-day police custody, seems to be getting buried deeper and deeper in the murder case of fellow wrestler Sagar Rana. As the days pass by, new evidence and stunning revelations are being made against the Olympian.
An old picture has resurfaced online in which the two-time Olympic medallist can be seen sitting next to gangster Kala Jathedi’s brother Pradeep, which was shared for the first time on December 18, 2018 with a caption which reads “bhaichara @pehalwanji”.

Delhi Police say that Pradeep is also wanted, has a prize money of Rs 7 lakh, and has managed to abscond and escape overseas to stay out of their grasp. Sources also say that the recently 38-year old turned wrestler worked with these men, and even went to Sonipat to aid Kala Jathedi’s brother with a certain case.
On Saturday evening, Sushil Kumar and his associate Ajay Kumar were arrested in the middle of a road, after Delhi Police’s Special Cell successfully tracked them down after a couple of weeks of intensive search and raids.

Kumar was taken to the Model Town police station where he was interrogated for over four hours during which the wrestler cried continuously, refused to eat anything and stayed up all night, sitting on the floor.
He has also admitted that he had no intention of killing Sagar Rana and only wanted to scare him off a bit.
The disagreement between Sushil Kumar and Sagar Dhankhad was over a flat that belonged to Sushil Kumar in the Model Town area of Delhi. Sagar used to stay on rent in this flat with a friend named Sonu Mahal, considered the right-hand of wanted gangster Kala Jathedi.

"The one who murdered my son does not deserve to be called a mentor. All the medals won by Sushil Kumar should be taken from him. We believe that police will investigate properly but Sushil will try to influence it by using his political links," Rana's mother argued according to India Today.
"We are hoping for justice. Where did he go when he was absconding, who gave him shelter, and most importantly the gangsters with whom he is connected to. He should be hanged so that people learn a lesson and think before killing his own pupil," said Rana’s father.
