On Thursday (June 03) Delhi's drug controller told the High Court that the former cricketer's Gautam Gambhir Foundation had illegally stocked and distributed Covid medicines.

The drug controller said that the foundation was "found guilty" of procuring and distributing Fabiflu medicines to COVID-19 patients without a license.

Nandita Rao, an advocate appearing for the drug controller, told the High Court that the foundation's stocking of medicine in an unauthorized manner was an offense under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Aside from Gambhir, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Praveen Kumar was also found guilty of similar offenses under the act. 

"The inquiry by drug controller found that the Fabiflu and oxygen were distributed for free by both of them but neither had a license to either buy or distribute. And so both have been found in violation of section 18C of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act for purchase and distribution of Fabiflu and Oxygen respectively without a license," said an official while speaking with NDTV. 

However, soon after news of the hearing emerged in the public domain, Gautam Gambhir, who has been quite vocal about his feeling of doing nothing wrong, took to Twitter to share a quote by India's iconic freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh.

Though Stocking up of FabiFlu was not as per regulation but you have helped a lot of needy people in those difficult times. At least the poor people were highly benefitted as they were not able to purchase from open market
