Sony has announced a new portable Bluetooth speaker in India today just in time for World Music Day. The SRS-XB13 is Sony’s latest EXTRA BASS portable wireless speaker that costs Rs 3,990. The portable speaker also comes with a new Sound Diffusion Processor for enhanced sound, beats and wider sound spread. The new iteration of the Bluetooth speaker also comes with a battery life indicator on smartphones, a built-in microphone for calls and Google Fast Pair.

The SRS-XB13 also has a rugged design that can be used outdoors and also has IP67 water and dust resistance rating which means it can be enjoyed at the pool, beach or at hikes. Technically speaking, the SRS-XB13 can be submerged underwater for at least 30 minutes while under 15cm to 1m of water.

The compact speaker can last up to 16 hours on a single charge and battery levels can be checked with an indicator on your Android device. The battery on the speaker can be charged using a USB-C cable which comes included in the box. 

For the first time, the SRS-XB series is also getting Google’s Fast Pair technology which will enable users to connect with Android devices in mere seconds. The speaker will also automatically connect with a nearby phone. The new Sound Diffusion Processor enables the speaker to fill up any space with sound with its top-firing speaker.

In terms of audio specifications, the SRS-XB 13 has a single 46mm driver that has a frequency range of 20 Hz - 20,000 Hz. The speaker also comes with a strap that can be attached to backpacks for easier transportation. The total weight of the SRS-XB 13 is approximately .253grams. 

The SRS-XB13 also uses Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity with support for AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs. The portable speaker will be available in Black, Light Blue, Pink, Powder Blue, Taupe, and Yellow colours. 

The speaker is currently available to purchase via both online and offline retailers. The SRS-XB13 can be purchased from Amazon, Flipkart, ShopAtSC, Sony Center Stores and other offline partners.
