‘Want Them To Go Crazy?’ Fans Support BCCI’s Decision To Allow 20-Day Break After Backlash

A couple of days after the Indian cricket team lost the World Test Championship final against New Zealand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 20-day break for the Men in Blue, ahead of the five-Test series versus Joe Root’s English side.

According to a BCCI official in a PTI report, the Indian team has decided to go on a 20-day break with some stars looking to attend the Wimbledon, while others hoping to get tickets to the Euro Cup.

"Some of them are tennis fans and if Wimbledon allows spectators, you might see them going for some of the show court matches. A few might be checking out if tickets for the Euro games at Wembley are available," the source said.

However, not everyone was completely at peace with the Indian cricket board’s decision to allow some personal time to the athletes and their family members, especially after the rather eye-opening defeat they incurred at the hands of Kane Williamson’s Black Caps at Southampton’s Ageas Bowl cricket ground.

Aish karo masti maaro. No remorse nothing. Why can't they practice for the England series, play some County cricket.

Have fun with your wives around United Kingdom

The WTC final was clearly one-sided and the Kiwis were clearly the better team during the six days on which the match was played and there is no denying that fact. Considering the rainy conditions on Day 1 and 3 of the one-off Test cricket, it was rather unfortunate that someone like Bhuvneshwar Kumar wasn’t present in the Indian locker room, who could have used the wind to swing the ball however he wanted.

On the other hand, a total collapse of the middle order in both first and second innings didn’t help their case while attempting to make a decent total to protect. Unfortunately, a shocking final day debacle by the Indian batters led to an unexpected loss for the Men in Blue and New Zealand became the inaugural winners of the World Test Championship.

Thankfully, there were some other sympathetic fans who agreed that the Indian cricketers deserved this break considering the kind of loss they just had to face and some time away from the game might help them recover mentally and get back to the ground with a refreshed mind.

You say you aren't a human ,if you had a bad day at office you try to relax and get back to work fresh ,not work continuously even when it is a bad day

India will be in a long bio bubble, for 2 months. They are humans too and need a mental break, after the heartbreaking WTC loss. The 1st test will be after 40 days.

People will want them to go in depression after Final Lose. No doubt they lost but I m sure players will understand and know what's better for them.

Hmm, let them enjoy.
Those abusing, get a life. These guys stay away from homes literally whole year...

At the end of the break, the entire cricketing squad will reunite in London on July 14, before traveling to Nottingham to start their preparations for the England series.
