It has been more than a year since we lost Sushant Singh Rajput but there’s no end to the misery of his fans and loved ones who want to know what happened on the unfortunate day of 14th June 2020. It’s still very hard to believe and come to terms with the fact that people who genuinely adored him won't be able to see him on the big screen anymore. His friends and family are still finding it hard to deal with this irreparable loss. 

Before he became a Bollywood star, he showed his charm in the Television industry and his character of Manav in Pavitra Rishta made him a household name. 

However, there were reports stating Shaheer Sheikh will be playing the role of Manav in the second part of the show. He has now confirmed the reports and penned a long note regarding the same.

He wrote, “When I was first approached for PR2 (Pavitra Rishta 2.0), I was taken aback. Who in their right frame of mind would dare to play a character immortalized by Sushant Singh Rajput. I too was reluctant. Then I thought, knowing Sushant he was one to take every challenge head-on. And so I decided that while it is scary to step into his shoes & live up to audience expectations… it is scarier to NOT even try. And so I did what I felt he would do if he was in my position. I took the challenge."

He further wrote, "When the team told me they wanted someone earnest so that we could all tell a story that was a fitting homage to Sushant’s legacy… I decided to give it my all and leave the rest to the audience and The Almighty. Working with a team that loved & respected him immensely only adds to the genuine intent in all our hearts. Sushant, you will always be Manav. Nothing can change that & no one can replace that. I may not be as good, and I may not do justice to it as you did, but I promise to give it my ALL. #pavitrarishta2."

For true Manav fans, it clearly was hard to imagine any other actor stepping into Sushant’s shoes. And the announcement completely backfired at him and the entire team, including Ankita Lokhande and Ekta Kapoor.

People are angry and have been wanting to boycott the show completely. They have bashed Shaheer for not saying a single word when the tragedy happened. They are slamming Ankita for using Sushant’s fame as her golden ticket. They think it’s more to do with TRPs than actually giving a tribute to SSR.
