5 Bizarre Movies You’ve Probably Never Watched In Your Life


While we are swamped with choices when it comes to picking up a good movie, oftentimes than not, a good movie with a marvellous script is lost in the sea of ‘masala’ films and blockbusters. However, some critically acclaimed films deserve a special time of their own and one needs to savour them well. Here are five bizarre movies which probably you haven’t watched and therefore must be added to your list:

1. The Warrior

This is going to be a visual treat for all Irrfan fans. Directed by British filmmaker Atish Kapadia, this movie follows a warrior from rural Rajasthan who is sent to massacre an entire village but things take a different turn for him. The movie won two BAFTA awards so please do watch it, in case you haven’t.

2. Red Road

This psychological thriller movie follows a woman named Jackie who gets obsessed with a man whom she is observing on a surveillance camera, courtesy her job. When she decides to seduce him and get closer to him, the reason for her obsession gets clearer. This is also a BAFTA winner so its critically approved.

3. My Life As A Courgette

Don’t confuse this to be a children’s movie. This animated movie is laced with dark themes which tells you a lot about the reality of life and follows a young boy who is shifted to an orphanage after his mother passes away. It is a heart breaking coming-of-age movie which shouldn’t be missed.

4. Bad Taste

This will be a good watch for anyone who finds joy in sci-fi dealing with aliens. This one has aliens munching and snacking on humans for food and the script turns into a gory horror parody. Don’t watch while you eat, that is all.

5. The Orphanage

This Spanish gothic horror movie follows Laura, who harbours many happy memories of the orphanage she grew up in. She convinces her husband to buy the property, expressing the desire to convert it into a home for sick children. When her own adopted son goes missing, she realises probably the spirits are calling out to her to look for the boy. The movie has no cheap thrilling jump scares, so you will genuinely enjoy watching it.
