It has been more than a month since Neeraj Chopra won the historic gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics but the felicitation ceremonies are still on. The fact that everyone wants to honour the ‘Golden Boy’ just shows how massive his achievement was and what it meant to the whole country.

His busy schedule made him call off his season early and it seems like he is enjoying every bit of time away from the training field.

From attending TV shows to delivering lectures, Neeraj has tried his hands at everything in the last couple of months.

Having travelled to the different parts of the country in the last few months, the javelin star landed in Kolkata recently for yet another felicitation ceremony.

Neeraj has made a special place in every Indian heart with his polite nature but fans' love for him grew even further after a video from his Kolkata visit went viral online.

Unlike some of the videos that had gone viral for all the wrong reasons, this clip had nothing controversial in it. In fact, it was something that brought smiles to most of our faces.

In the video, the 23-year-old athlete could be seen listening innocently to the chef who was telling him about various dishes in his lavish Bengali platter.

From luchi to cholar dal to chingri maachh bhapa to mutton, the platter left him spoilt for choices. However, he had no idea about what was there on his plate so he waited patiently for the chef to explain everything, albeit looking completely lost!

We all know how much Bengalis love their food. It’s not just a means to fill up their empty stomach, but it holds a sentimental value for them and people loved the fact that Neeraj wanted to embrace the Bengali culture, in its truest sense.

Before enjoying the meal, Neeraj was willing to learn about various dishes that were on his plate.

After his meal, Neeraj also enjoyed various Bengali sweets and desserts like rosogolla, mishti doi and gurer ice cream and instantly fell in love with them.

No doubt what Neeraj achieved in Tokyo has made him a household name in India but it was his simplicity that has made him strike a direct connection with the masses.

Despite winning the biggest prize in his sport, Neeraj continues to find happiness in the smallest of things -- be it taking his parents to their first-ever flight or eating chai-roti and that’s what makes him special.
