    Following a comprehensive loss in the second match against India, the visiting Englishmen will have to come out all guns blazing in the crucial third Test if they intend to stay alive in the five-match series.
    So far, Alastair Cook’s side has not looked as convincing on the field as they do on paper. The visitors undoubtedly outplayed the Indians at Rajkot, but only managed to get a draw in the end. At Vizag, they looked more promising until losing eight of their 10 wickets to the Indian spinners in the second innings.

    The lack of application and temperament by the England batsmen was pivotal in their demise in the second Test. Apart from skipper Cook, Joe Root and probably Ben Stokes, none of their batsmen managed to counter the Indian spinners. And, Ben Duckett was one particular batsman who stood out for all the wrong reasons.
    Going into the third Test, England have made a few changes. England have put their faith in the fairly inexperienced Jos Buttler to replace Duckett. In the bowling department, Stuart Broad's injury seems to have paved the way for Chris Woakes.
    On the other hand, Team India - high on a 16-match winning-streak at home - have also opted for a couple of changes. Swing maestro Bhuvneshwar Kumar makes his way back into the side, while a surprise inclusion of Parthiv Patel has also been made in place of injured Wriddhiman Saha.

    One of the most important aspects in the past two Tests has been winning the toss and opting to bat first. Both, at Rajkot and Vizag, each team won the toss respectively, and decided to bat rather than field. The idea seems to be putting a mammoth total on board to put pressure on the opposition and the tactic seems to be working just fine.
    In the first Test, Cook won the toss and England went on to amass 537 runs. The Indians, who scored 488 in the first innings, were put under immense pressure and had to play off their skins to salvage a draw. The scenario in the second Test was pretty much the same with Kohli opting to bat first and India putting up 455 runs on board to corner the Englishmen who eventually fell short by 246 runs.

    Endowed with sufficient bounce, decent pace and some initial lateral movement, the Mohali wicket is considered to be one the liveliest pitches in India. However, the first Test between India and South Africa last year at this ground saw the match ending in a span of just three days. The wicket on offer was a raging turner as the Proteas conceded a 108-run loss.
    Given the nature of the pitches in the series so far, the Mohali wicket will surely assist the seamers in the early sessions, at least on the first two days. But, the fact that the pitch seems a bit drier than usual undoubtedly means that there will be purchase for the spinners as well.

    The failure of Duckett at the no. 4 slot has been the biggest disappointment for England in the series so far. Not to repeat the same mistake again, England have brought in wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler as a potential replacement.
    Buttler, who was dropped as wicket-keeper a year ago, has only played just one first-class game since then. His Test record isn't impressive either. The 26-year-old has only once managed to score over 30 in his last 12 innings. The right-hander's highest score in that period was only 42 runs, while his first-class average of 32.07 is surprisingly lower than Chris Woakes.
    For a batsman who is known for his aggressive approach, Buttler's biggest test will be against India's spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. It will surely be interesting to see if he can fend off the spin challenge to repay the faith of the England management.

    Despite sprinting ahead with a 1-0 lead, Virat Kohli & Co. should not take the struggling Englishmen for granted. If history is to go by, the visitors are more than capable of bouncing back and, even snatch a series win against the home side.
    On the last two occasions, England have done exactly that. Trailing 0-1 in 2012, England staged a remarkable comeback to outwit the hosts at Kolkata and Mumbai to clinch the series. The 2014 series was no different either. Despite winning the second Test at Lord's, Team India fizzled out to lose the series 1-3.

    The Indian team's success has been riding on the back of the prolific form of their skipper Virat Kohli. The Delhi lad has been leading from the front with 337 runs at an average of 112.33 in his last four innings. If Kohli has been dominating, his fellow countryman, Cheteshwar Pujara, has equally complemented his captain with some good performances. The right-hander has amassed 262 runs at an average of 65.50 in the last two Tests.
    For England, unfortunately, their batting unit has failed miserably against India's spin challenge. After witnessing four hundreds in the first Test, none of the English batsmen managed to score a hundred. The only silver lining for England in the series so far seems to be their, Adil Rashid, who has claimed 13 scalps from four innings at an average of 28.46. 
    In case you are wondering why we didn't mention Ravichandran Ashwin in this block, then you ought know why. Ashwin has been spinning a web around the Englishmen and his performances have been so good and consistent that we've decided to omit his name from top performers list till he gets 10 wickets in an innings - because he's that good.

    Researchers and Scientists at the University of Central Florida have developed a new super-capacitor battery prototype which is being touted as one the most ultra-fast charging battery. The battery works like new after recharging it over 30,000 times and it is capable of lasting 20 times longer than the conventional lithium cell batteries. 
    UCF associate Nitin Choudhary says, "You could charge your mobile phone in a few seconds and you wouldn't need to charge it again for over a week."
    Supercapacitors can store electricity statically on the surface of a material, which enables it to charge super quickly. These supercapacitor batteries do not use chemicals like conventional batteries, but it requires material sheets, which have as large surface area and can hold a large number of electrons. The twist is that these supercapacitors use two-dimensional materials and graphene seems to be the popular choice.

    However, UCF researcher Ironwood Jung says that implementing graphene as a two-dimensional material can be a challenge and they chose to wrap 2D materials just a few atoms thick around the conductive nanowires. This lets electrons pass through much quicker and it yielded a fast charging material. "We developed a simple chemical synthesis approach so we can very nicely integrate the existing materials with the two-dimensional materials," Jung says.
    The development of this supercapacitor are at an early stage and not yet ready to be implemented in products commercially. "For small electronic devices, our materials are surpassing the conventional ones worldwide in terms of energy density, power density and cyclic stability," Choudhary said. Here’s hoping this technology becomes reliant soon enough that we can drastically reduce our dependency on fossil fuels.

The ICSE board is now all set to include ‘Harry Potter’, ‘The Hobbit’, ‘Tintin’ and ‘Asterix’ as a part of the English literature syllabus for the middle school students.

Clearly, it seems, demonetization hasn’t even touched him, let alone have any impact. Whether you believe in supernatural activities or the technological advancements, neither of the two have anything as of now that can turn people immortal, then why is he trying so hard and spending so much to protect himself?

    His complex, ‘Pragathi Bhavan’, covers 9 acres in Begumpet, Hyderabad and is equipped with a theatre that can accommodate nearly 250 people and can even double up as an auditorium. Other amenities include a massive conference hall, windows fitted with bullet-proof glass, homes for senior government officials and a mini-secretariat that will include some government offices. The complex has been built by the renowned real estate group Shapoorji Pallonji and though it was originally supposed to cost Rs 35 crores, the final bill reportedly is estimated over Rs 50 crore.
    After a grand house warming ceremony or ‘griha pravesh’, the CM moved into in his new house (read: palace). In fact, it is said that Rao is a strong believer in ‘Vaastu’ and every aspect of this house has been determined by ‘feng shui’ and ‘vaastu’ experts. Reportedly, a new government secretariat or office complex is to be built as well, though the construction is on hold right now.

    These huge expenses are definitely not going unnoticed as the opposition and the public has been constantly hitting at Rao, accusing him of using taxpayers’ money to build his lavish home, while the people are struggling with cash crunch and standing in long queues outside banks and ATMs, post the ban on Rs 500 and Rs. 1000 notes.     How many times do you come across a movie that makes you want to think about life, evaluate your choices and the theme of the movie makes you feel that you have felt this way before? Yes, it happens rarely. ‘Dear Zindagi’, the upcoming Alia-Shah Rukh movie deals with a young woman trapped in depression, thinking how unworthy life is, making horrible life decisions and failing at relationships. Without much ado, here are 5 reasons that will compel you to watch this beautiful movie this weekend:
    1. The story revolves around the theme of depression- Depression is a crippling ailment that can destroy anyone. It is not gender specific, or person specific. This movie deals with this stigmatic theme that plagues everyone around us. By the looks of the trailer, it looks like it has done justice to it.

    4. Watching Shah Rukh be a mentor again- We all love King Khan as the quintessential romantic guy, making women swoon over him but seldom do we get to see the serious, grave side of his talent. The last time he delighted all of us in his mentor ‘avatar’ was when he played the role of the strong and sensitive Indian hockey team coach in ‘Chak De India’. Watching him share some ‘gyaan’ with Alia is going to be a delight.
    5. The soothing music- A Bollywood movie is incomplete without great music. It’s like a half baked cake. You always have to compromise if the music of a movie is not worth downloading. The music for this movie is already on our phones and we are already in love with it.

    It’s November and I’m loving the fact that, finally, the winters are here! I absolutely love the cold. I’m eating a lot of everything and desserts are back in my life, and, so is wine! And while I fill out this interview, I’m listening to some deep house by Alex Cruz. 
    Tell us about your beard timeline. How long have you been growing it. Any special beard stories: 
    It’s funny, how like some 3 years ago when I used to ‘shave’, because even uttering the word now feels dated. Clean shaven was sexy and now there is just a whole new generation of men, who’ve stepped into a more worn-in, easy, unkempt and chilled out look. I’ve been growing this beard for about a month now.

    Do you use products? If so, what are your favorite beard products?
    I don’t actually end up using any products. In fact I what I own is a set of good (and long lasting) beard trimmers.
    Are women into beards? 
    Hell yeah! As much as it pricks, pokes and practically gives them a face scrub—they like it. Let me rephrase, they LOVE it!

    Do—grow a beard, at least once in your life!

    Ever since the sudden demonetization move was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, almost everyone, be it politicians, noted economists or the common man (sorry it’s not you, Arvind Kejriwal), is talking about this bold and ‘revolutionary’ step. Amidst the innumerable comments, there are a few people whose opinions really matter, sometimes only to add more ‘masala’ / ‘fuel’ to the already burning issue. However, today everyone was stunned when former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh spoke in the Rajya Sabha where he scrutinized the demonetization move by calling it “organized loot and legalized plunder”. He even hinted that this decision can lead to a 2% fall in GDP of the economy. 
    He is a prominent economist and a man of few words, for which he always received flak from leaders and people alike. So, as expected seeing him speak after such a long time turned more heads than the issues he spoke about and our favourite platform, Twitter, left no stone unturned in cashing on the topic. Some trolled him majorly for speaking for the first time, there were some who criticized him for his party’s actions. Although there were many who praised him for his valid points as well.

    Aewon Wolf is a South African rapper and songwriter from Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. He was born Arnold Phillips on 24th March 1987. Anyone with an eye (or ear) for Hip hop or south African Hip Hop will definitely be familiar with Aewon Wolf and his music. The Durban rapper very cleverly inter-twines his passion and dedication into his craft and is well on his way to a meteoric rise.

    He scored a couple of number one hits with his very famous track ‘A Week Ago’. After the success of this track, he gained a lot of fans and also became the new face of Cell C, a very famous South African Mobile Company in 2015.     Be it palm-readers or mystics, we all fancy future predictions irrespective of whether we believe them or not. Most of us are intrigued by the future especially in terms of technology. In the present alone we have seen so many technological advancements, which were just a fantasy a few years back;  so what could happen in the near future has us very excited. 
    Well, it seems we aren’t the only ones fantasize about the future, as our previous generations were equally progressive and ahead of their time and cartoonist Steven M. Johnson’s work only proves how close they were to reality. Johnson’s artwork has been published in several books and his predictions can be dated back as late as the 1970s and 1990s. Some of the noted ones are, ‘Public Therapy Buses, Information Specialty Bums, Solar Cook-A-Mats and Other Visions of the 21st Century’, ‘What The World Needs Now’, and the recently published book ‘Have Fun Inventing’. From furniture with secret compartments or cars with washing machines under the hood, his books had very detailed imaginative illustrations about future developments.

    If you are an avid reader of futuristic books or have read Johnson’s work at least once, you will realize what we are talking about. Although his predictions appear very silly and ludicrous, like solar-cooker cars, the Smart Car NYC taxi (which is quite close to the concept of Uber and other taxi rentals), the ‘SMAXI’; every illustration of his draws you closer to present day gadgets and products. Check out some of his amazing artwork, most of which actually turned into reality.

    With the recent demonetization of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes, temporary jobs, especially in labour intensive sectors like garments, textile, leather and jewellery, have taken quite a hit. A senior industry executive, remaining anonymous, has said that about 4 lakh people, comprising mostly of daily wage workers, have either lost their job or snubbed work temporarily due to lack of payment, and the number will just keep going up if the cash flow doesn’t increase.
    However, they added, this estimate is primarily based on anecdotal evidence and a better picture of the situation will appear in the coming weeks. 
    Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) vice-chairman Ravi Sehgal said that some labourers are refusing direct payment through banks, even though they have bank accounts, fearing that the amount might exceed Rs.50,000 ( a year ) which will cause them to lose their below poverty line status, stripping them of subsidiary benefits.
    A lot of export promotion councils warned of lower production in a meeting with commerce and industry minister Nirmala Sitharaman held on Monday.
    An industry executive present at the meeting even said that some of the factories had to cut down the production by half since demonetization because of the liquidity crisis.

    Out of about 32 million people employed in the garment and textile sector with daily or weekly wages, roughly a fifth of that faced grave consequences. A lot have already lost their jobs and many are worried about facing a similar fate. About 70% of workers in the garment industry, especially in hubs like Tirupur, are migrants from north and northeastern parts of the country and do not have a savings bank account. 
    Facing a similar problem, about 20-25% of the 2.5 lakh daily wage workers in the leather industry are also affected. Since 90% of the industry is made up of small and medium enterprises, it has been hit the worst. About 15-20% of the daily wage workers in the jewellery sector have been affected as well.

Mrs. Haley also is the first woman and first non-white person nominated for a Cabinet post in the Trump administration. “Governor Haley has a proven track record of bringing people together regardless of background or party affiliation to move critical policies forward for the betterment of her state and our country,” Donald Trump said. “She is also a proven dealmaker, and we look to be making plenty of deals.     Demonetisation is casting its dark shadow and is definitely forcing us to think, how cheap is human life in our country? 
    While economists debate over the success of the recent demonetisation, there are human lives that are being lost. Recently, a teen from Mavai Buzurg, UP, committed suicide after he was unable to withdraw money to pay his college fees.  18-year-old, Suresh was a B.Sc second year student at Panchnehi Degree College in UP. He was queuing up for a number of days to withdraw money. After failing to do so, he hung himself. 
    It is nothing less than ironic that India is a nation where deep pocketed industrialists are spending crores on weddings are getting away scot-free whereas common people with limited means are committing suicide due to this uncalled for experiment. Seems this might last for a while! Sigh.

    Whether it's football, cricket or any other sport, the level of competition has jumped at a rapid pace over the years. The increased level of competition has forced the budding players to start honing their skills from an early age, so as to keep themselves in contention of turning pro.

Batting great Sachin Tendulkar made his international debut at the age of 16. Four-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted by Sir Alex Ferguson at the age of 18. And the rest, as they say, is history.

    India's persistent search to find the next Tendulkar brings us to a two-year-old video showcasing a miniature figure of what could probably go on to become one of the most distinguished batsmen for the country.
    Rudra Pratap, who was just five years old in 2014 when this video was shot, can been smashing the opposition bowlers who look comparatively older than him.
    Apart from his batting prowess, the cricketing gear of the pint-sized batsman is what really catches your eye. The right-hander appears so small that he had to wear a cap under his helmet to make it fit. On the other hand, the chest guard that he is seen wearing are actually thigh pads of a regular-height batsman.
    For someone who looks barely taller than the stumps, Pratap surely misses a few deliveries but when he makes contact with the ball, you'd notice that the talent is visible. He plays the cut, drives and then goes on leave a few balls like a professional cricketer.
    "Catch them young," is what the coaches are believed to say. And, this five-year-old kid playing for Delhi in an under-14 match surely corresponds to that statement.

    Desperation leads to disaster. The saying doesn’t fit in any place better than in the world of bodybuilding. Young dudes, looking up to professional bodybuilders, want to get jacked as soon as possible and by any means possible. Things exactly go wrong here. Before I begin, let me make it very clear to you that the effects of steroids are very subjective. From genetic predisposition (the most important factor) to the type of steroid used, from its dosage and duration of use, to current Health Profile, it’s a complicated process needs expert guidance.  So, before you pop those pills or stick in that needle, here’s what you MUST know.
    1. Acne The androgenic effects of anabolic steroids cause the sebaceous glands in the skin to secrete more oil than normal. This is what occurs in the puberty stage as well. Remember, genetic predisposition? That’s the reason some of us get acne/pimples during our teenage. Steroid abuse catalyzes this and someone who is not genetically predisposed to resist the potential side effects would have a hard time with acne breakouts.
    2. Messed Up Testosterone Production Now, I am not saying people who use steroids will not be able to produce babies. Depending upon the use, misuse and duration of the cycle, steroid use can lead to infertility, reduced sperm count, and messed up natural testosterone production and levels. This eventually leads to erectile dysfunction. Anabolic steroids trick the body into thinking that the testicles DO NOT have to produce testosterone. When this happens, the amount of testosterone in the testicles is extremely low, despite normal or very high levels in the bloodstream. When this situation occurs, follicle stimulating hormone is also not released. This combination causes the testicles to shrink and to produce little if any sperm.

    3. Gyncomastia Steroids cause an increase in estrogen (the female hormone) and/or a decrease in testosterone (the male hormone), which is what causes the breast tissue to grow. In simple words – the nipples swell and resemble breasts. A lot of bodybuilders go under the knife for treating Gyno. D-Bol is infamous for having gyno side effects.
    4. Liver Damage Google “Dean Wharmby”, Zyzz  and Andreas Munzer , you’ll know that I am talking about. Although people who promote drugs say they ‘died’ not JUST because of steroids but because of pre-existing conditions but the reality is that abusing steroids screws up the liver, which can lead to death. On the other hand, there are legends like Arnold, Ric Drasin, Dorian Yates who wisely used juice to their benefit.

    5. Peliosis Hepatis An uncommon vascular condition characterized by multiple randomly distributed blood-filled cavities throughout the liver that can rupture causing internal Bleeding. It’s pretty harrowing.
    6. Kidney Failure Some studies have suggested tumors can form on the kidneys decreasing their ability to filter the blood. As a result, toxins build up inside the body leading to fluid retention and increased blood pressure and eventually kidney failure.

    7. Affecting Heart Health Previous studies have indicated that the use of AAS results in decreases in high density lipoprotein (HDL-Good Cholestrol) and increases in low density lipoprotein (LDL-Bad Cholestrol). Orally administered 17-α-alkyl Steroids (like “Dianabol”) are especially notorious for this. Note that in some cases, the total cholesterol count will not change significantly. The total cholesterol level can, therefore, give a false representation of uncompromised lipid health.
    8. Abscess Abscesses are caused by obstruction of oil (sebaceous) glands or sweat glands, inflammation of hair follicles, or punctures of the skin. Germs get under the skin or into these glands and cause an inflammatory response and swelling of that area. Steroid users typically get an Injection Abscess. Doctors cut open the abscess to help in drainage of pus and relief from symptoms.

    9. Blood Clotting Anabolic steroids can cause a number of changes in the hematological system that affect blood clotting. This effect can be very variable, however. There are also a growing number of case reports where (sometimes fatal) blood clots and strokes have occurred in steroid abusers. 
    Well, these are all the major side effects you may or may not get after using steroids. I’m not going to mention Hypertension and Roid Rage as one of the side effects because those are highly exaggerated and very, very subjective. I’m not telling you to use steroids or not but I would say no if you are in your early twenties or haven’t trained minimum for 3-4 years with correct nutrition and training. This is the bare minimum for those of you who are in a hurry. My purpose is just to educate you and make you aware what can come your way if you are planning to take that path. Now, put those needles aside!

She has worked under producers, like Ben McCarthy (Megan Washington), Alex Somers (Sigur Ros) and Francois Tetaz (Gotye) which only seals her fate as the next big name in avant-garde music to watch out for.
    In fact, don’t be surprised if she’s the new ‘It’ song at the bar in the near future.

    The annual Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards were announced recently and the winner for 2016 is photographer extraordinaire, Matt Emmett. He was awarded the first prize for his image of the Covered Reservoir in Finsbury Park, which was constructed by the East London Waterworks Company in 1868.  It is the first time that an image of a historic location has bagged the prize. 
    Paul Finch of the World Architectural Festival announced the winners at a ceremony in Berlin, Germany. The winner will receive a sum of 3000 dollars and an opportunity to exhibit his work in London and Berlin.
