‘Beauty Without Brains’ Fans Slam John Abraham For His Weird Explanation Of Heart Attacks

The thing about being a celebrity (and one that most people don’t understand) is that with all that glamour and fame and following comes a certain sense of responsibility that you cannot wash your hands off of.

Like spreading the right word and knowledge, considering they have the power not just to entertain but also to influence.

Which is why, John Abraham’s latest appearance on the famous Kapil Sharma Show created quite an uproar, after the actor callously spoke about the cause of a heart attack and did it all wrong.

I wish our medical students had this much confidence!!!

Quite recently, a number of celebrities have met with their end after suffering unsolicited heart attacks that opened up a conversation around health. And John was speaking about the cause of such heart attacks and for a while we all listened and with all attention, considering he did seem to be making a point and is a bonafide health and fitness freak.

However, seconds into his explanation, netizens realised that while his effort and intent to get a point across about stress and heart attack was right, his scientific terminology to explain it was all wrong.

John went on to talk about triglycerides and described them as bubbles in the blood which travel to the heart to cause a heart attack.

Except, they aren’t bubbles.

And to be honest, the only bubble here was the one John was living in, as he spurted out factually incorrect information about the matter.

Triglycerides, in reality, are a type of fat found in the blood, which is measured along with cholesterol levels. While they can very well lead to a heart attack, but not by travelling to the heart.

At the most, they contribute to the hardening of the arteries which can increase the risk of stroke, heart attack and other heart diseases.

Why do Bollywood people feel this urge to display their stupidity in every matter? Trust me, if this guy writes a book on heart health, our Indian public will make it a bestseller. pic.twitter.com/zQkEX22ibz

And netizens didn’t leave any chance to troll the actor and school him about the basics of cardiology and heart diseases. After all, you can’t risk putting out incorrect information about such a sensitive topic, not so confidently either!

One user wrote, “Triglycerides aren’t bubbles. He’s a bubble," while another one commented, “I wish our medical students had this much confidence!!! Gibberish at all level!!!”
