Fawad Khan entered the Indian households with TV shows like Dastaan (2010), Humsafar (2011), and Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012). He soon made his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat (2014). After Kapoor & Sons, he became the national crush and women went gaga over him.
View this post on InstagramAfter the Uri attack in 2016, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association passed a resolution to ban Pakistani artists from working in Indian films. The All Indian Cine Workers Association announced a total ban on Pakistani artists after the Pulwama terror attack in 2019.
His Indian fans have been wanting to see him back on the screens and it’s good news that he is all set to return to the Indian screens five years after his appearance in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Fawad and Sanam Saeed are set to reunite for an upcoming series, eight years after their hit television serial Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2013).
In an interview with Film Companion, Fawad was asked if he misses Bollywood. “I do. I made some great friends there, I still keep in touch with them. Yeah, I miss it. I miss Mumbai, it’s a beautiful city. In fact, all the cities that I have been to, I have had a lovely experience,” he said.
We also miss Fawad because he had the potential to grow in Bollywood and people had accepted him with wide-open arms.
People in India have reacted to his statement and said they want to see him back in Bollywood. They also went on to say that it’s because of the political tensions between India and Pakistan, Bollywood has missed a gem. People also added that he would have been a huge star if political tensions didn’t hamper the exchange of art between the two nations.

Talking about his upcoming show, he said, “I think Zindagi is taking bold and brave decisions when it comes to storytelling. It’s naturally evolving into a platform that encourages diversity of opinion and inclusiveness for all filmmakers and material ranging from everyday mainstream to avant-garde and noir. I feel there’s a place for everyone in this artistic landscape.”
As per the show’s official synopsis, it ‘blends together magical realism and supernatural fantasy within a family reunion setting’ and explores the themes of love, loss, and reconciliation’.
In this series, Fawad will play a single parent who is 'ridden with guilt for what he has lost'. As per the makers Fawad's character 'tries to be every bit the father his own father was and wasn’t'.
In the show, Sanam essays the central female character who is 'harbouring otherworldly secrets'. As per the makers, she 'takes it upon herself to heal, and make whole, everyone who surrounds her'.
We are waiting for the show to start streaming on Zee5.
