‘Dekh Bhai, Main Kisika Chamcha Nahi Hun’ When Anil Kapoor Took A Dig At Akshay Kumar

When actors Anil Kapoor and Akshay Kumar came together for Welcome, there were rumors of some sort of post-movie animosity around them. While some reports claimed it was over creative differences, a TOI report claimed that a jocular comment made by the actor was perceived to be a sly dig at Khiladi Kumar.

In an interview with a magazine, Anil Kapoor was asked about whether he’d turn a producer and he explained that he cannot run after stars and likes to stick to his own work.

“Once Akshay Kumar had asked me why I wasn’t asking him to work with me. I told him, ‘ Dekh bhai, main kisika chamcha nahi hoon. I need the same kind of passion in an actor. If we have that, we'll work together.' I can't beg and plead neither will I lick an actor's feet to cast him,” he said.

It was reported that this comment had actually taken Akshay by surprise and later their common friend clarified to TOI that Akshay was not running after anyone. Rather Anil Kapoor had expressed his wish to work with him.

“I don’t know how Anil will gain from taking potshots at Akshay. Akshay has no animosity toward anyone but if someone treats him as an enemy, there is hardly a thing he can do about it,” the source quoted. Akshay Kumar is a successful producer himself and interestingly, even Anil Kapoor later turned producer with Aisha.
