As the third COVID-19 wave sweeps India, the release dates of various films have been postponed. Ranveer Singh-starrer 83 was the last film that was released in theaters. Directed by Kabir Khan, the biographical drama was released during the Christmas weekend and has been underperforming at the box office despite getting a positive response from critics. Starting from the New Year weekend, several biggies were scheduled to release in January, however, the release dates have been pushed ahead because of the Omicron scare.

However, the makers postponed the release date at the last minute due to the surge in coronavirus cases and the Delhi government's decision to close the theatres. Soon after, the makers of RRR, Prithviraj, and Radhe Shyam too pushed their release dates.
Now, the latest buzz suggests that John Abraham's much-awaited film Attack too might not release on time. For the unversed, the action thriller is scheduled to release on January 28 for now, however, the team might soon make an announcement regarding the film's release.
Revealing the same, a source told News18, "While the official announcement is yet to be made, the producers, including John Abraham, have had an internal talk and have decided that postponing the film is going to be the best decision in the current situation. There is no way that they can think of releasing the film on their scheduled date considering the current surge in COVID-19 case".

While John is keen on releasing the film in theaters, the makers are reportedly also thinking about an OTT release or Pay Per View (PPV) option. But, nothing is yet confirmed.
Last month, the makers of Attack had released the teaser which received an encouraging response from fans. Originally, the film was scheduled to hit the theaters on August 14, 2020, however, even at that time, it was delayed due to the pandemic.
