'The Offer' Trailer: Loved 'The Godfather'? Now Watch How That Iconic Film Got Made

Touted as one of the most iconic films of all time, the 1972 film The Godfather, based on the Mario Puzo novel of the same name has inspired a hell lot of films and TV shows around the world.

In India itself, we have had many mainstream films taking inspiration from the Marlon Brando and Al Pacino starrer.

Now, a new series will take us behind the scenes of how that iconic film was conceived, pitched and eventually made by Academy Award winning producer Albert S. Ruddy.

Titled The Offer, referring to The Godfather’s iconic dialogue, “I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse”, the series features Miles Teller of Whiplash fame in the lead role of Albert S Ruddy.

The series also features Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola, the director of The Godfather.

Other actors in the show include Matthew Goode as Robert Evans, Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt, Giovanni Ribisi as Joe Colombo, Burn Gorman as Charles Bluhdorn, Patrick Gallo as Mario Puzo and Colin Hanks as Barry Lapidus.

The teaser trailer shows how Teller’s Albert faced difficulties in greelighting The Godfather from all quarters. Be it the studio, the people around him and even the Italian mafia of the time.

And the teaser trailer ends with the iconic The Godfather theme tune. And to be honest, it makes me want to watch the series right now.

Take a look at the teaser trailer of The Offer below:

Among other cast members, Anthony Ippolito plays Al Pacino and Justin Chambers of Grey's Anatomy fame plays Marlon Brando.

The short synopsis of the film reads, “The Offer is based on Oscar®-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy’s extraordinary, never-revealed experiences of making The Godfather.”

The limited series will start streaming from April 28, 2022, on OTT platform Paramount+.

Unfortunately, for the Indian fans of The Godfather films, Paramount+ is not yet officially available in India. Let’s just hope we get to see the series officially via other streaming platforms available in India if Paramount+ isn’t made available in the country by April.
