The thing about lingerie is that it is one of those very few things that excite men just as much as it excites women. And that is what makes it the perfect gift, especially for valentine’s day. 

Instead of getting her the cliche, run of the mill gifts, go bold this year and get her something she can feel powerful and sexy in. 

It’s time for you to step up and take this relationship to the next level - it’s time for lingerie shopping. And before you turn all red and awkward, I’ll help make things easier for you, only so they can get hard later *wink*:

One of the worst mistakes while shopping for lingerie is to shop it online. 

The entire idea of buying intimates for your partner is to be able to pick the right cloth with the right texture and appeal, that seldom ever gets translated through pictures online. 

So, make that trip to the store and give yourself the opportunity to explore more options, variations and buy only when you’re convinced of what you see.

Yes, buying lingerie can be overwhelming especially if you don’t know anything about it in the first place. But what makes it easier is knowing where to start from, and that is having at least an idea of the colour or of a style in mind.

It can be your favourite colour or even the staple red or black that is always a safe and sexy option to side with. But having just a little silhouette in mind as to how you’d want to see her, is definitely good to shortlist options.

Fine, you’re in a lingerie store and yes, all you can see is super hot bras and panties decorated across like candy in a store. And, of course, the bold and racy styling on mannequins doesn’t help with the awkwardness. But that’s where the need to change the narrative comes in, right?

Why must you feel embarrassed for buying something that is a necessity? If anything, you should feel proud and macho in taking charge of things in the bed and making efforts to surprise your girl by doing this.

And if in the end, nothing works, it’s always a good idea to bring a friend along for both - opinion and moral support!

If after one whole stroll through the store, you still feel as confused as ever, clueless as to what would be a good pick, it is time to play it safe. 

Pick a likeable colour - white, red or black and go with your instinct. Try to think of what she usually wears and look for something that might remind you of her. 

It might not be the right time to pick something totally out of the box, lest you think she would be surely up for it. At the end of the day, as long as the garment is in her size and gifted with love, she’ll definitely love it!
