The greatest leg-spinner in his time, Shane Warne, lovingly called ‘Warnie’ was just 52 when he passed away from what is suspected to be a heart-attack. And while it’s been a few hours since the news has broken, it still hasn’t sunk in for a lot of his fans, most of whom are from the Bollywood industry.

Not just famous in the cricket world, Shane Warne managed to receive love and forge bonds with people around the world. From being regarded as one of the legendary cricketers to surpassing several records while playing the World Cup, Test matches, IPL and what not.

As people reminisce about Warne and look back at his legacy, several Bollywood stars have taken to their social media to mourn the death of the greatest leg-spinner they’ve seen.

From Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Preity Zinta to many others, a lot of stars grieved the loss of Shane Warne. Preity took to her Instagram to write, “So sad to hear that Shane Warne is no more. He was a magician on the field & such a charismatic & flamboyant personality off the field. I learnt so much about cricket from him every time I met him during the IPL & laughed a lot. He was an inspiration to so many all over the world. My heartfelt condolences to his family. R.I.P my friend. You will be missed.”

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana wrote, “Goodbye Warney! I emulated your action as a leg spinner of my school team and under-16 and under-19 team of Panchkula district. Your loss is very personal. Rest in peace legend."

Reports share that “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived." The family has requested privacy at this time of grave tragedy and will provide further details in due course.
