Speaking out of experience, social media has infinite potential and power to be tapped into.  

Anyone (and everyone at this point) is potentially just a click away from fame, and that has been made possible solely with the impact and kind of reach that social media has offered to the ‘common man’.

Once reserved simply for stars and celebrities, stardom is now more attainable than ever. And proof of it is not just Instagram influencers who started with an idea, but also raw talent that people find scrolling on their feed in the wee hours of the night.

The latest example of such fame is a Kerala girl who made her livelihood selling balloons, but caught the eye of a wedding photographer and had her life turned around, thanks to social media.

Arjun Krishnan, who is a wedding photographer, was attending the Andalur Kavu festival in Kerala when he came across a girl selling balloons. Fascinated, he clicked a few pictures of the girl and happened to show it to her and her mother, both of whom looked pretty happy with his work.

Soon after, Arjun shared those pictures on his social media and was surprised to receive an overwhelming response from people. 

Kisbu (the young girl) was not just lauded, she was suddenly everywhere.

That’s when she was approached for a makeover and was styled by makeup artist Remya Prajul who started working on a complete makeover for the teenager. The process started at 4 am with a manicure, pedicure and a facial. 

It was followed by an entire low-down to Kisbu about how the shoot was going to proceed, and much to her surprise, it turned out extremely well. Dressed in a traditional kasavu saree with gold jewellery, pictures from the shoot speak for themselves.

With thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, Kisbu is going viral on social media, and just like that, might have a shot at being more than a balloon-seller. 

This is also not the first time that something like this has transpired. Months ago, a girl became an overnight sensation after a video of her making rotis in a village, dressed in a suit, went viral.
