Ever since Ranbir Kapoor & Alia Bhatt started dating, fans have been waiting for a wedding announcement from the couple.

Every media interaction or Q&A session they have, they are asked the same question, ‘shaadi kab kar rahe ho?’ just like all desi kids are asked by their relatives. 

In fact, a few days ago, Ranbir broke the silence and said he and Alia do intend to marry soon but he won’t tell the date in a press interview. Fair enough!

After much speculation and wait, the couple have finally decided to get hitched and it was sooner than we could have imagined. 

According to an exclusive by Pinkvilla the couple will be finally tying the knot in the second week of April. 

Originally, it was later in the month but they had to prepone due to the deteriorating health of Alia’s grandfather Narendra Nath Razdan. The Bhatt family wanted the couple to get married as soon as possible.

Rumour has it that Alia & Ranbir won’t be flying out to an exotic wedding destination but will have their nuptials in Mumbai, in Kapoor’s ancestral home, RK House, where Ranbir’s parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor also got married in the 80s.

There will be 450 guests in attendance including families and friends of both stars from the film industry and otherwise. The guests have been sent the invites and asked to keep the second week of April clear for the wedding festivities.

The couple is all set to release their first movie together as well. 

They will be seen together in Brahmastra for the first time, for which they have been shooting for five years. 

The couple started dating during the shoot of the film.
