The civil war in Syria has gone from bad to worse ever since rebel forces began their assault after the 2011 Arab spring to oust the Assad regime from power. An estimate shows that almost 312,000 people have died in war in five years and still there are no signs of an end to the atrocities being committed on innocent people in the war torn country.
Many countries around the world have been asking for the Assad, Russia and Iran alliance to stop their assaults considering the extensive loss of human life that the world is witnessing in Aleppo every day. Take a look at the impassionate speech by US ambassador to UN Samantha Powers asking for immediate steps to control the situation in Aleppo.
As of Tuesday, 13th December 2016, the rebel forces have agreed to the ceasefire and are on their way out of the city of Aleppo. But considering that the rebel forces still hold vast swathes of areas in northern Syria, the war is far from over.
Here is how you and I can help the city of Aleppo and thousands of other Syrian refugees in their fight for survival.

The White Helmets are a team of first responders who are helping to rescue people from the rubble of city wide bombings and mortars. Also known as Syrian Civil Defense, you can donate to their cause called as ‘Hero Fund’ which helps to pay for medical care of the injured white helmets and also other volunteers and their families.
Hand In Hand For SyriaHand In Hand provides medical aid, food aid, educational materials and water into the hardest-to-reach areas of conflicts within Syria. They were the first ones to bring food aid to Yarmouk, a conflict area in Damascus, in January 2004.
Doctors Without BordersBecause of intense fighting in and around Aleppo, many of the healthcare centers have been destroyed. Very few doctors and medical facilities remain and that is why Medicins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders is one of the most crucial charities working for Syria. They have around 150 health centers to support and you can help them to expand their relied efforts by donating on the link given below.
Karam FoundationKaram Foundation is currently running two aid programs which show the plight of Syrians in this civil war. The first aid program is for those children who remain in Syria and the Karam foundation supports and sponsors 15 schools for them. The second aid program is for those children who have left Syria and are looking for sponsors.
