The nation is outraged at the recent Bangalore mass molestation that happened on New Year’s Eve because it’s hard to believe some men would assume authority and entitlement over women, so much that they have audacity to paw at them, grope them, molest them in full public view, even in the presence of 1500 policemen. Is it hard to believe, though? Talk to any woman in your life and you’d know how much of a daily occurrence molestation is. We outrage. We outrage every time a Nirbhaya is raped. But we outrage and forget. Girls continue to be molested and raped.
