The New 2018 iPhone May Cost Half Of An iPhone X & Will Have A Feature Indians Will Love

A cheaper and more affordable iPhone may be launching in 2018 where Apple is rumoured to launch a 6.1-inch variant that will be priced as low as $550 (Roughly INR 37,000). The rumour comes from renowned iPhone commentator Ming-Chi Kuo who has been responsible for some of the most accurate leaks and predictions regarding the iPhone X.

In a KGI Securities memo, Kuo claims that the 6.1-inch iPhone will also have an additional feature which will be a popular feature amongst Indian users. Kuo claims that Apple will launch two variants of the cheaper iPhone model. One of the two variants will have a dual SIM card slot and other with a single SIM slot. The double SIM variant is expected to cost between $650 - $750 (INR 43,000 - INR 49,000)

To put things into perspective, the iPhone X currently retails in India for INR 82,900 which makes the price tag of INR 43,000 almost half of the current generation. This cheaper model will give Apple the ability to compete with mid-budget Android phones in countries like India and China.

Apart from the 6.1-inch model, Kuo believes Apple will also launch a 5.8-inch iPhone X successor that will have an OLED screen and a larger 6.5-inch model of the iPhone X successor. The cheaper iPhone could also indicate Apple may introduce this device as the iPhone SE 2 and a few filings for the cheaper device were already found with a Eurasian regulatory organisation.

We can only know for sure when Apple confirms the rumours at their annual press event in September. Until then, we will keep hunting for more leaks and rumours to keep you updated about the upcoming iPhone.
