However, amidst all this hullabaloo Twitter seems to have traced another side to the story and that is the striking amount of similarities the 'Gully Boy' teaser has with Eminem's 2002 semi-biopic '8 Mile'.

Yes, you read that just right. And if you hadn't made the connections thus far, we suggest you check out the teaser once more, and do a basic Google search for '8 Mile' and we bet the connections will leave you as shook!

Multiple frames, right from Ranveer hyping up the crowd during a stage performance, to the hoodie-wearing swagger through a dimly-lit, shady part of town, the scenes scream '8 Mile' on multiple occasions!

Twitter has declared that 'Gully Boy' might just be the desi rip-off of '8 Mile' and here is how they expressed their opinions on the platform.

To me #GullyBoy looks like a copy of EMINEM'S movie 8 MILE .

Looks like the Indian version of 8 Mile. #BohotHard #AsliHipHop #GullyBoy @RanveerOfficial @aliaa08 @FarOutAkhtar

I really like ranveer singh but #GullyBoy seems like a rip off of 8 mile.

Watched the Gully Boy teaser. I see a lot of 8 Mile. Anyone with me? #GullyBoy #NoOffense

As exciting and raw as #GullyBoy looks, I'm really hoping the makers are true to the 'street' aesthetic that @VivianDivine and @NaezyTheBaA represent. Last thing I want to see is a glorified 8 Mile rip-off where Detroit is replaced with Dharavi to please the masses.

Yeah the mirror scene is def inspired from 8 mile but still I stand my ground man. For it to be promoted as a homage to 8 mile, it should be a remake or fully inspired by it and I'm sure Gullyboy's world is different than 8 mile's.

While I already felt Gully Boy was inspired from Eminem's movie 8 mile. Here is one scene from the trailer which is quite similar to the ending rap battle scene from 8 Mile. pic.twitter.com/FRahdQdrOF

Why does @RanveerOfficial look like B rabbit from 8 Mile ?#GullyBoy pic.twitter.com/mX0Wj9vJTx
