It's a rather sad day for the film fraternity as actor-turned-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with early stages of throat cancer. But the good news is, the man is battling the disease head on and is in full spirits, dealing with everything patiently.

While Rakesh is dealing with cancer, he's certainly lucky to have son Hrithik Roshan by his side, boosting his spirits and making the frenzied moment a bit more relaxed, by giving him all the support he needs. The 69-year-old filmmaker was diagnosed with 'squamous cell carcinoma of the throat' (throat cancer) and he will be undergoing surgery today for the same.
What's rather astonishing in a good way is the fact that Mr. Roshan, despite having a major surgery today, didn't miss out on 'gym time' with his actor son Hrithik, and both took a selfie together right after their workout! This possibly has to be the best will-power in place and we're loving the strength he's fighting the disease with.
On Instagram and Twitter, Hrithik shared a picture with Rakesh captioned- “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. .Love you Dad.”

— Dr.Abinash (@DrAbinashpatta1) 8 January 2019The very talented actor-turned-filmmaker has given us many hits including the 'Krrish' franchise and is currently working on 'Krrish 4'. Apart from that, the father son duo have also worked on 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai', 'Koi Mil Gaya' and 'Kaabil' together and we certainly want to see more of them this year.

Here's hoping the surgery and the healing process pan out rather well and Rakesh Roshan recovers promisingly. After all, we love the fighter within him.
