Ranveer Singh starrer 'Simmba' has now crossed the box earnings of Rohit Shetty's 'Chennai Express' to take its top spot as the “highest grosser” for the director!
According to the latest tweet by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Simmba' has so far earned Rs. 227.71 crore while 'Chennai Express' had earned Rs. 227.13 crore. This makes 'Simmba' Rohit Shetty's most successful directorial venture so far.

Even though 'Simmba' received mixed reviews upon its release on 28th December last year, it soon picked up business over the week.
The movie has received great reviews and has been hailed as a total “paisa vasool” movie of 2018. Not only that, but 'Simmba' also became Rohit Shetty's eighth consecutive 100-crore movie at the box office.

In 'Simmba', Ranveer Singh is seen essaying the role of a corrupt policeman called Sangram Bhalerao who undergoes a complete transformation after a life-changing incident.
The film stars Sara Ali Khan as Ranveer's love interest Shagun in the film, while Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Siddhartha Jadhav also play pivotal roles in the movie.
