For a man who recently sweeped the top honors at the ICC Awards, Virat Kohli is arguably in the best form of his life. On the back of consistent performances, the Indian captain has been breaking one record after another in international cricket. Not many in the current crop of cricketers can stake claim to what Kohli has been able to pull off with relative ease.
But, when he is not breaking batting records or cutting a sorry figure for the bowlers, the Delhi lad enjoys his life just like any other individual. His social media accounts are a testimony to that, where he often shares photographs of himself doing things that makes this godly cricketer human.

After his leading his team to a clinical eight-wicket triumph in Napier, the right-hander was seen making the most of the rare day off ahead of the 2nd One-Day International (ODI) in New Zealand. He also shared a picture where he was seen chilling with his shades on in the sun. "Basking in the sun," read the caption of Kohli's post on Twitter.
Looks a bit like you're more in the shade, bro! ð— Kevin Pietersenð¦ (@KP24) January 24, 2019
While Kohli's tweets generally garner a lot of engagement from cricket fans, this one attracted a comment from Kevin Pietersen who also has been pretty active on the social media. Taking a dig at Kohli, the former England cricketer wrote: "Looks a bit like you're more in the shade, bro!”.
Well in that case you should've seen my first caption. Much worse. ð
PS - the face is still in the sun ð¤ª
Kohli saw the funny side of Pietersen's remark and replied: "Well in that case you should've seen my first caption. Much worse. PS - the face is still in the sun”. And, for once, the godly cricketer we've come to know as Kohli, looked human as he struggled to caption his post.
I'll let you off cos I love you! ð— Kevin Pietersenð¦ (@KP24) January 24, 2019
In response, Pietersen gave the Indian skipper the benefit of doubt before confessing his love to Kohli. “I'll let you off cos I love you,” Pietersen tweeted.
On the cricket front, after taking the lead in the five-match series, India will now be eager to extend their winning run when they lock horns with the Kiwis in the 2nd ODI at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga on 26th January.
