If you happen to have even an iota of interest in Bollywood and the hefty number of slightly maddening, but mostly entertaining and fulfilling movies it churns out year after year, and of course unless you have been living under a rock, chances are that you know about the Khans of Bollywood.
Yet, for those of you who wish to pretend you are clueless about what I am saying, there are three dominant Khans in the Hindi film industry - Badshah Khan aka Shah Rukh Khan, Bhai Khan aka Salman Khan, and then there is Mr. Perfectionist aka Aamir Khan.View this post on Instagram

And since you are still here and eager to lend me your attention (I wanted to say eyes, since ears clearly don't agree with this medium, but that wasn't quite fitting in), I will also tell you a little bit about myself. I am pretty much like any other 26-year-old millennial with an opinion (about everything or nothing) you may have encountered in your life. The only difference is, I have a platform to voice that opinion and share it with all you valuable readers who spare the time and stop by to give a fu*k about what the likes of us have to say.
All that said and done, let us move on to the very thing you have come here to discover. However, before you read ahead, let me put out a disclaimer and state that you may or may not agree with what I have to say, and also that by no means do I hope to suggest that this isn't something you may have already read/known before. But I want to put it out there, and so I will.

Now, many of you reading this may be SRK and Sallu Bhai fans, and sure both these actors have a lot going for them in terms of their personal histories in Bollywood and their professional careers, but this isn't about them. It is true that all three of them are actors of great calibre, but Aamir Khan is more than just his acting skills in front of the camera.
Aamir Khan is a man of principles,
“I am a very idealistic man. I believe that even people who are part of the problem can become part of the solution.”View this post on Instagram

He walks the talk and ensures that you pay heed to it. The first thing that comes to mind his 'Satyamev Jayate' and the kind of revolution in initiated on the small screen and amongst the masses. Aamir redefined the kind of content that we were consuming on TV, and opened up avenues and channels for action and discourses around burning issues.
Aamir Khan epitomises change and evolution,
“I do what I feel is right. I am not scared to walk on the new path and take risk.”

Aamir changed the face of modern Hindi cinema with the kind of films he created and became a part of. From 'Lagaan', 'Mangal Pandey', 'Rang De Basanti', 'Fanaa' to 'Taare Zameen Par', '3 Idiots', 'PK', and 'Dangal', he also presented the different sides of a narrative with films like 'Peepli Live', 'Dhobi Ghat' and 'Delhi Belly'.
Aamir associates himself with films that are more than mere stories. His films are live representations of our immediate realities, which we may be too arrogant (or ignorant) to admit. Aamir will take that risk, and give us a new reality to explore and experience.View this post on Instagram

Aamir Khan does not let failures bring him down,
“I have had unsuccessful films, but I learned a lot from those films. I give my failures as much importance as my success.”
Sure, since I am talking about his greatest contributions to films, how can I miss the absolute debacle that was his last box office release, called 'Thugs of Hindostan'. The multi-starrer, big-budget film bombed at the box office and how. Now while there are quite a few reasons to that, the most obvious ones are poor script, unfamiliar genre and definitely below average direction. Yet, Aamir took it all in his stride, and was vocal about the film's shortcoming.
He shouldered the film's failure along with the director, and stood with the TOH team through it all and took the hit. That makes him a winner for me!

There are a lot more reasons why I would always prefer him to the other Khans, but the ruling reason continues to be that he has his heart in the right place. He is fearless and unapologetic about what he does and how he does it. Aamir gets real, important shit done away from the camera and not just in front of it, and most importantly, because he gives a shit about things and walks the talk.
