Apple announced the second generation of the very popular AirPods that was first launched in 2016. The new AirPods has a new H1 chip that has been developed exclusively for earphones and promises faster connect time, longer talk time and can now also launch Siri with a simple “Hey Siri” prompt. The new AirPods also comes with a Wireless Charging Case that will be available to order through Apple Authorised Resellers later this spring. It can also be bought separately for older AirPods.

The new H1 chip is the star of the new AirPods that can basically let the AirPods switch between an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch seamlessly and twice as fast. It can also deliver 50 per cent more talk time compared to the previous generation.

The charging case can hold an additional 24 hours of charge and the wireless charging case is compatible with any Qi-wireless charger. It has an LED light at the front of the case that basically shows the status of the battery charge.
