Pak PM Imran Khan Congratulates PM Modi Saying 'Peace' Is On His Mind & That Sounds Like A Plan

The verdict is finally here. Well, almost. The day of the final judgement, if you will, has declared the fate of our beloved country for the next five years.

Most national news channels have been up and running since 6 AM this morning, throwing out data and figures our way, from the recently concluded rounds of polling, and by 12 noon today the Indian subcontinent knew all too well what's in store.

We have chosen our leader for the next five years, and that too by a whopping majority. With over 300 seats to itself in the Lok Sabha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is basically enjoying a clean sweep (yet again) win across the country.

While the country has stepped out to celebrate the big win along with the winning party, how could our neighbouring nation stay behind? Sure enough, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, took to Twitter to congratulate PM Narendra Modi and NDA on their big win.

I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of BJP and allies. Look forward to working with him for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia

However, what caught people's attention was the fact that Imran Khan, once again, expressed his desire to take up peace talks with India, and work towards a progressive and prosperous future.

This is coming just over a month after the Pakistan PM said during a press conference that he believes there may be a better chance of peace talks with India, if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) win the elections.

We are all for sharing amicable and friendly ties with Pakistan, who only seem like an extension of India in a lot of ways, given our shared history together.

On multiple occasions, we have heard about how the common people on both sides of the LOC share their desire to live on friendly terms with each other, and for once, we dearly hope Pakistan will walk the talk and help establish strong, peaceful ties between the two countries.
