SRK's Interview From The '90s Is Proof That His Political Views Are Incredibly Relevant In 2019

Shah Rukh Khan is called the 'Badshah' of Bollywood for numerous reasons. Besides being a great actor, the man is known to be a doting father, a responsible citizen and a well-aware, well-read human in general. Recently, a throwback video of King Khan from the '90s has gone viral and it is amazing to witness the relevance of it today. He was interviewed by Farida Jalal on his views around the political scenario of the country at the time, nationalism and his generic views on being a citizen of India. The video might have been in oblivion somewhere, but it's come back to prove what a brilliant mind he has.

#ShahRukhKhan talking about freedom of speech, freedom of press, not falling for speculations and anti-national elements to Farida Jalal way back in the 90s is incredibly relevant even now. His thoughts on how there is no ownership for a country but only gratitude for being a citizen, how he values the freedom that we enjoy which is a result of the blood and sweat of the martyrs who fought for it, the clarity required for freedom of speech, and basically everything you saw in the snippet, is eerily very relevant in 2019. It is wonderful to know that he was way ahead of his time in terms of beliefs and obviously, his fans love him for it.
