Here's Why Looking Up M.S. Dhoni & Tendulkar Is Riskier Than Searching For Sunny Leone Online

A recent report from cybersecurity giant McAfee aimed to draw a list of the top 10 popular celebrities generating the riskiest search results online - and the results are definitely surprising.

While it might seem that Sunny Leone would have topped the list, given the notorious reputation of porn websites for containing viruses and other digital threats, she has been ranked a lowly fourth - beaten out by TV celebrity Gautam Gulati, former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and at the #1 spot, M.S. Dhoni.

Dhoni Tops Riskiest Search Results List© McAfee India

To compile this list, McAfee first analysed a list of the 100 most popular personalities in India, and then put their names through the Google algorithm, analysing around 15 pages worth of results - that's over 150 websites per celebrity. Each website was then checked for code that would install malware or track a user's keystrokes and browsing details, resulting in the ratings you see above.

McAfee thinks that Dhoni has made it to the top of the list because of his legendary status in modern Indian media. As the captain of a world-cup winning team, along with his recent biopic, his media presence has resulted in a field day for cybercriminals to lure Internet users onto websites that install harmful code or aim to steal personal information.

It's easy to see where people's curiosity leads them. While cricket and pornography already happen to be subjects of worship in India, the focus remains on sports and popular Bollywood names. Rapper Badshah makes an appearance on the list, actors Radhika Apte and Shraddha Kapoor follow suit, and the rest are all sportspeople - cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur, badminton champ P.V. Sindhu and legendary footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo.

It's always great to follow your idols, just make sure you're doing it in the right place.
