Ibrahim Ali Khan Becomes A Bona Fide Fashionista Of B-Town, Way Before His Bollywood Debut

Ibrahim Ali Khan has everything to make it big in Bollywood. Drop-dead good looks, genes from the quintessential royal family of Bollywood, and a family name that almost certainly guarantees a huge fan following.

Even before his Bollywood debut, Ibrahim is a favourite among designers, who are lining up left, right and centre for him to showcase their latest collections. And if Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla are an example of the zeitgeist in tinsel town, Ibrahim is doing a pretty good job.

Recently, Ibrahim shot for Abu & Sandeep and their latest collection, called Mard, which had a really awesome collection of striped sherwanis and bandhgalas.

Here, take a look.

The striped jacket and trousers with accents really go well with the patterned mules. Furthermore, the abstract manner in which some of the areas have been made to clash with the generally horizontal stripes should allow for an interesting visual aspect.

The bandhgala also, with its frilled neck and bejewelled cuffs, look classically regal, all the while carrying a modernistic undertone with it. The array of medallions that are being used as brooches, further add to the aristocratic appeal of the bandhgala.

The brooches in themselves are a work of art, replete with traditional designs and motifs.

Another bandhgala from the collection that's worth mentioning is this one, with a simpler aesthetic. The striped placket, and the similarly striped lower half of the bandhgala have an understated appeal.

But our favourite piece from the collection has to be this shacket.

The stripes and the silhouette, combined, give it a very kitschy feel. The ultra-large pockets and the stripes flowing in the opposite directions give it a very militaristic or utilitarian appeal.
