Both Bhartiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena are currently deciding who should take over the seat of Chief Minister of Maharashta. In the meantime, a fan on Twitter suggested Anil Kapoor should be the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra till the time there's no one to take over. 

He wrote, "Maharashtra mein jab tak koi rasta nahi nikalta, tab tak anil kapoor ko hi mukhyamantri bana kar dekh lete hain. Parde par unka ek din ka karyalay poore desh ne dekha aur saraha hai. Devendra Fadnavis aur Aaditya Thackeray kya soch rahe hai?" (Until we reach a solution for Maharashtra, why not make Anil Kapoor the Chief Minister? Everyone watched and loved his one-day session on the big screen. What say Devendra Fadnavis, Aditya Thackeray?)

Anil Kapoor's response to this fan's tweet was surely epic. Recalling his 2001 film Nayak wherein he became the CM for a day, the actor wrote, “Main Nayak hi theek hu. (I'm better off as an actor)." Well, this clearly indicates that he has no interest in joining politics for that matter.

In the movie, Anil played a television journalist who is challenged by the sitting chief minister to take over the seat for a day. He made sure that he did a decent job as a CM and eventually, he ended up becoming one. 

On the work front, Anil Kapoor was last seen in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and Total Dhamaal. He will now be seen in Pagalpanti and Malang. He also has Takht with Karan Johar, which will begin shooting next year.
