Sourav Ganguly Urges People To Keep His Daughter Out Of The Citizenship Amendment Act Row

Former captain of the Indian cricket team and the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly went on Twitter to urge his followers to keep his daughter, Sana Ganguly out of the Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) row.

On Wednesday, the Indian cricketing legend addressed the 18-year-old's Instagram post which was allegedly related to the CAA while saying that it was “not true”.

He also mentioned that his daughter is “too young a girl to know about anything in politics”.

"Please keep Sana out of all these issues ... this post is not true ... she is too young a girl to know about anything in politics," Ganguly tweeted.

The post, that has since gone viral, is an excerpt from Khushwant Singh's book, The End of India and a lot of people considered it to be her opinion on the ongoing issues related to the CAA.

“Every fascist regime needs communities and groups it can demonize in order to thrive. It starts with one group or two. But it never ends there. A movement built on hate can only sustain itself by continually creating fear and strife... No one is safe. We must realize this if we hope to keep India alive,” reads the post.

The same post was also shared by the former Pakistani cricketer and the current Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan
